SAMANTHA GEIER
TAPPI is dedicated to developing a technologically advanced workforce, and we understand that training needs are as various as the many industry segments we serve. That’s why TAPPI Academy offers the opportunity to acquire unsurpassed technical education and career enhancement through a variety of channels such as face-to-face courses, eLearning, company classrooms, and our new certificate program.
FACE-TO-FACE TRAINING
Each year, TAPPI and its partner associations host more than 25 face-to-face courses taught by highly-regarded subject matter experts. These introductory- to advanced-level courses provide instructional education throughout the wide range of forest products industry segments.
While some courses are held at TAPPI Headquarters in Peachtree Corners, GA, many are conducted in cities across the country. Many of these courses offer CEU/Professional Development credits, and the materials provided to attendees during the course are theirs to keep.
E-LEARNING
For flexible, on-demand learning opportunities, TAPPI provides more than 40 online courses that have either undergone a stringent peer review process by experts within the relevant field or have been developed by subject matter experts.
Many of our online courses are customizable and are available as site licenses as well as for individual use. Whether uploaded into a mill’s private LMS or viewed in a simple browser format, they allow for the training of operators, new hires, and other employees on-site, without the expense of travel.
COMPANY CLASSROOMS
TAPPI is proud to provide customized training courses spanning the entire pulp manufacturing, container manufacturing, and papermaking processes—all delivered right to a company’s doorstep. We can tailor courses to suit your company’s needs and audiences. One of our instructors will sit down with you to assess your training requirements, and will then create a curriculum that can cover everything from entry-level training to highly niche topics.
PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATE PROGRAM
Our newest addition to the TAPPI Academy repertoire, the Professional Certificate Program has been developed by industry practitioners who understand the technical knowledge and experience required for superior performance. Designed to meet the needs of today’s competitive environments, earning a TAPPI Professional Certificate demonstrates the ability to manage industry demands with expertise.

Correction
In the May/June issue, we incorrectly identified two of the newest members on the TAPPI Board of Directors. Fernando Bertolucci, chief technology and innovation officer at Fibria Celulose and Jim Cooper, senior research scientist at The Dow Chemical Company, were elected to serve three-year terms as board directors. The TAPPI Board consists of the chair, vice chair, president/CEO, and nine directors who determine the policies and have general charge of the affairs of the association.
