TAPPI President & CEO to Retire
This past January, TAPPI President and CEO Larry N. Montague announced his plan to retire at the end of 2025. For nearly two decades, Montague has been at the helm of TAPPI, leading the financial and strategic turnaround for the association. During this time, TAPPI has followed a strategic roadmap that has produced many successes, including 17 consecutive years in the black, targeted membership growth, and numerous partnerships that have opened doors to new products and services benefitting TAPPI members and the forest products industry. He will work closely with the Board of Directors Executive Committee on a succession plan to ensure a seamless transition to new leadership.
TAPPI WELCOMES NEW BOD CHAIR, VICE CHAIR, AND TWO DIRECTORS
TAPPI is excited to welcome its new board chair, Kim Nelson. Nelson serves as CTO for GranBio USA. An entrepreneurial scientist and business manager, she holds nine patents and 120 patents-pending in the biorefinery and nanocellulose fields.
The board’s new vice chair is Mike Farrell, VP of Paperboard Manufacturing Division at Graphic Packaging.
This past March, the TAPPI Board of Directors elected two new directors: T. Scott Frasca, Director of Sales-CASE and Nonwovens at MiniFibers, Inc., located in Johnson City, TN; and Daniel J. Goymerac, VP, Industrial Business Development at Miron Construction Co., located in Neenah, WI.
T. Scott Frasca has served the paper, paperboard, and coating industries for 40 years. A TAPPI member since 1986, Frasca has vigorously supported TAPPI at both the local and national level his entire career. Daniel “Dan” Goymerac, P.E., has more than 30 years of engineering consultation, start-up, troubleshooting, installation, and construction experience in the pulp and paper, power generation, and forest product markets. Goymerac is active in, and currently the chair for, the TAPPI Lake States Local Section.
