Can YOUR Site Earn a PPSA Award?
With a history that spans almost 80 years, the Pulp and Paper Safety Association (PPSA) is the industry’s premier organization dedicated to safety resources and knowledge. PPSA provides assistance and education in the prevention of incidents among the paper, packaging, converting, and forest products related industries—both away and at the job. The Association also provides professional growth and networking opportunities for safety professionals and leaders across the industry.

PPSA offers five annual awards that recognize outstanding performance:
- The Executive Eagle, the Association’s most prestigious award, is given to an outstanding executive in the paper industry who has made major contributions to the cause of accident prevention in his/her own company and beyond.
- The Distinguished Service Award is PPSA’s highest award for service and may be presented annually to recognize leadership and service within the association.
- The Award of Safety Excellence recognizes up to three awardees for operational excellence. Judges look holistically at each nominees’ safety program, record, and continued efforts to promote safety culture.
- The Safety Innovator Award goes to one facility annually demonstrating the most innovative safety improvement product/process. Conference attendees vote via secret voting to determine the year’s annual winner.
- The Safety Committee/Team Award, as described in the accompanying article.
Nominations/applications are due May 10, 2025, for this year’s PPSA Awards. Learn more at ppsa.org.
